Ok, so here's the deal: I've been talking and talking about it and finally decided it was time; no more waiting. I love mexican food. Amy loves mexican food. Amy and I go out to eat at a local mexican restaurant at least once a week, often several times. Over time we have developed a taste for the best and our own rating system for the restaurants that we frequent. With our regular outings I believe we have become local experts and feel like it's now our time to give back to the community. On this website you will find our opinions about the local mexican cuisine. Please peruse at your leisure and let us know if you find our advice helpful. By the way, it's only fair to give you some background on our personal preferences. This will help you decide what opinions you might agree with and which ones might be slanted by our individual tastes. Jason - The first thing you need to know about me is that I hate onions. There is one exception, and that is if they are well grilled, but I think you'll find that this affects my opinion of many of the dishes I sample. (A good example is guacamole, which to me tastes best with little to no onions.) As far as other general preferences, I've always loved enchiladas and fajitas, but lately I've been on a flauta kick. Amy - Well, I'm 5'3.5", blue-green eyes, and light brown hair (though my hair changes colors frequently)... Oh wait, that's not the kind of bio I'm supposed to be giving. :) So let's see... the most important thing at a Mexican Restaurant to me is the salsa. That sets the whole mood for the meal. It has to be fresha and it has to have real tomatoes; tomato paste just doesn't cut it. I also agree with my husband on the onion bit, and I'm not really one for guacamole. The usual dishes that I order are tacos al carbon, enchiladas (beef & cheese), and burritos. |
